Matchbox 1964 Chevy C10 Pickup
Chevrolet C10 History
Chevrolet introduced the C10 pickup truck in 1960. Before that, pickup trucks were more utilitarian, tall, and uncomfortable. C10 came up with a different proposal. Its lower chassis allowed the cabin to be lower as well. Furthermore, independent front suspension was introduced, which provided greater driving comfort. It was offered in two body options: Fleetside and Stepside.
In 1963, the helical front suspension with springs was introduced, in addition to a new line of engines: a 3.7 6-cylinder engine with 140 horsepower, and a 4.8 6-cylinder engine with 165 horsepower.
In 1964, it brought design innovations, inspired by aircraft. In addition, it had a flatter windshield, compared to the more wraparound windshields on Chevrolet pickup trucks of the time, and a new front grille.
It became very popular in the United States because it is a very reliable pickup truck with great performance.
